How to use the Campaign URL Builder tool

Welcome to the Campaign URL Builder

This tool helps you create custom campaign URLs with UTM parameters for tracking in Google Analytics. This page provides instructions on how to use the tool effectively.

Getting Started

  1. Open index.html to access the English version of the tool.
  2. If you prefer Catalan, click on the "CatalĂ " button in the top-right corner or open index-ca.html directly.

Creating a Campaign URL

  1. Enter your website URL - This is the base URL where you want to direct traffic (e.g., https://www.example.com).
  2. Fill in the campaign parameters:
    • Campaign ID (optional) - Identifies which ads campaign this referral references.
    • Campaign Source (required) - Identifies the search engine, newsletter, or other source (e.g., google, newsletter).
    • Campaign Medium (required) - Identifies the medium such as email or cost-per-click (e.g., cpc, banner, email).
    • Campaign Name (required) - Identifies a specific product promotion or strategic campaign (e.g., spring_sale).
    • Campaign Term (optional) - Used for paid search to note the keywords for this ad (e.g., running+shoes).
    • Campaign Content (optional) - Used to differentiate ads or links that point to the same URL (e.g., logolink).
  3. As you fill in the form, the generated URL will automatically appear in the "Generated Campaign URL" section.
  4. Click the "Copy URL" button to copy the generated URL to your clipboard.

Understanding UTM Parameters

UTM parameters are tags added to a URL to help you track the effectiveness of online marketing campaigns across traffic sources and publishing media.

The tool provides a detailed explanation and examples for each parameter in the table at the bottom of the page.

Switching Languages

You can switch between English and Catalan at any time by clicking the language buttons in the top-right corner of the page.

Both language versions offer identical functionality with translated interface elements.
